Winooski has always been a first stop for newcomers to America. For more than two centuries, waves of immigrants from Ireland, Quebec and elsewhere have made Winooski their first American home. A new video by three young men from Africa shows that the immigrant love affair with Winooski is still alive and well.

Mayor O'Brien to hear noise level of F-35's next week
Gov. Peter Shumlin announced today at a Montpelier press conference that he, Mayor Michael O’Brien of Winooski, and Mayor Miro Weinberger of Burlington will travel to Elgin Air Force Base in Florida Wednesday, Dec. 12 to hear for themselves the volume of the F-35’s that may be located in the Burlington area.
